The weather here in the north of Sealand is - as usual - lousy ;-). It's freezing cold and here and there there you still see some rests of snow. We arrived at around 4pm, unfortunately too late for playing the Japan Open or the Monte Carlo Qualifyer. Though I called a friend at 2 pm, they both were filled already.

So I decided to play a satellite for the championship flight. 16 players, entry fee 55 Euro, 7 point matches, the winner takes all. In the first round I had to play Martin Foldager, and this was already a big fun. We both had no dice, no cube, no scoresheet. Martin finally was able to get some dice, and we used a little sheet of the paper table cloth as "cube", writing a "2" one side and a "4" on the other side.

Our neighbour, former world champion Peter Hallberg was joking "two world class players and they don't have the equipment...", but we were able to top even this. The match was decided within one game with a (non-existing) 8-cube! Below you can see all three cube decisions:

The score is: Martin Foldager 0, ace 0 (match to 7 points)

In the second round I played Hans Liby from Norway, gave him no chance and won 7-1. The semifinal was against Pia Jeppesen. After a 3-2 lead I was close to winning a doubled gammon, but had to leave a decisive double shot against an acepoint game and passed the recube. I then lost 7-3. Well, tomorrow is another day.

The score (after 0 games) is: Hans Liby 1, ace 3 (match to 7 points)

We then went to Kedde's big appartment and had a improvised birthday party for my girlfriend Steffi. Kedde had prepared a cake, and with some wine and whiskey we all had fun until 2 in the morning.

As last year, the internet connection in the hotel Marienlyst is only partly working. Actually a shame for a hotel like this. While writing this text I don't know when I finally can upload it to my webserver.

I have three favorites this year. Acepoint, Martin Foldager nad Elias Kritikos.

There is something funny with MODx here.
