GNU Backgammon

GNU Backgammon is a great playing and analysing tool. I'm doing some (minor important) work for gnubg since 2001. Building packages for linux systems, doing the documentation and translations into german are my tasks. There is a F.A.Q (needs some more work, I know) and some other fine tutorials here.

You can get packages including 3d-support for

and Daily sources from the cvs-tree.

Do yourself a favour and read the README. All packages are signed. My public key is here. Import the key with:

#: gpg --import [name_of_keyfile]

for gnupg and/or

#: rpm --import [name_of_keyfile]

for verifying the software. To avoid misunderstandings ... neither am I the developer of the program, nor am I responsible for any nasty things that may happen when you use the packages. There is no warranty. All packages are built under the license of GNU GPL.

There is a small python script to convert Partygammon *.gam files into readable *.mat format. You can download it here: convert_gam_mat.py. But be warned, on MS Windows computers you also need the script language python and a little bit of commandline knowledge.

gnubg leopard build

Thanks for the build.

I've almost been able to build gnubg from source, but am having trouble with QuickTime, I think. In particular,

err = NativePathNameToFSSpec(cSoundFilename, &fsSoundFile, 0); */

in sound.c seems to be the issue. Any hints?
